The value system of mainstream America has its roots in our (predominantly) European ancestry. Today, however only a small percentage of U.S. immigrants come from Europe. Our largest immigrant groups come from Latin America, Asia, the Indian Sub-Continent, the Middle East, and Africa. The belief systems of these cultures are often very different from -- and frequently at odds with -- those of mainstream America. Differences in culture-based value systems can have a profound impact on the workplace. These modules form the core of the Multicultural Workplace Training Program because this is where our greatest challenges and opportunities lie.
 
In this eight-unit training segment, we study those dimensions of culture that have the greatest impact on the American workplace. Participants will learn how to recognize the cultural dimensions of workplace challenges, how to mediate cultural difference, how to coach foreign-born team members, and how to recognize and harness the strengths inherent in various cultural orientations.
